Steering Column: Installation

  1. Fit switch pack to column and tighten screws. Secure harness to column using new tie-wrap. Locate column on knuckle joint and loosely fit upper securing nuts. Fit and tighten knuckle joint securing nut and bolt.
  2. Fit pedal plate assembly. Fit and tighten column lower securing nuts. Fit spacers to upper securing studs and fully tighten nuts. Fit pedal assembly, pivots and circlips to mounting plate. Secure throttle cable to pedal with retaining clip and fit the cotter pin. Connect multiplugs and fit footwell carpet.
  3. Clip dash liner to its lower mounting, and secure retaining strap around mounting using the nut. Clip dash liner to its upper mounting, and push in fastener. Fit the upper cowl and secure it with its screws.
  4. Position lower cowl, fit covers and secure with screws. Release the tilt lever and adjust column to suitable position. Fit steering wheel and air bag module.
