Right Front Solenoid Valves

  1. Ensure ignition is off. Using DVOM, measure resistance between ABS ECU connector terminals No. 3 and 38. If resistance is not 3-5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 3-5 ohms, right front inlet solenoid valve is okay. Go to step 4).
  2. Disconnect valve block connector. Measure resistance between valve block terminals No. 1 and 7. If resistance is 3-5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is not 3-5 ohms, replace valve block.
  3. Check White/Brown wire between terminals No. 38 of ABS ECU connector and No. 1 of valve block connector for a short or open circuit. Repair wiring as necessary. Also, ensure Red/Yellow wire between terminals No. 3 of ABS ECU connector and No. 7 of valve block connector is not shorted or open. If White/Brown and Red/Yellow wires are okay, go to next step.
  4. Using DVOM, measure resistance between terminals No. 3 and 21 of ABS ECU connector. If resistance is 5-7 ohms, right front outlet solenoid valve is okay. Go to step 6). If resistance is not 5-7 ohms, go to next step.
  5. Disconnect valve block connector. Measure resistance between valve block terminals No. 2 and 7. Right front outlet solenoid valve resistance should be 5-7 ohms. If resistance is not 5-7 ohms, replace valve block. If resistance is 5-7 ohms, check Pink/Red wire between terminal No. 21 of ABS ECU connector and terminal No. 2 of valve block connector for a short or open circuit. Repair wiring as necessary. If Pink/Red wire is okay, go to next step.
  6. Ensure ignition is off. Connect jumper wire between ABS ECU connector terminals No. 1, 21 and 38. Press and hold brake pedal. Right front wheel should not rotate. Turn ignition on. Right front wheel should now rotate, but brake pedal should not go to floor. If right front wheel and brake pedal do not function as described, replace valve block assembly.
