Bench Testing: Stator
- Arbitrarily number stator wires: 1, 2 and 3. Note position of stator leads and unsolder leads from diode pack. Remove diode pack.
- Place ohmmeter on lowest scale. Compare resistance values between wires 1 and 2, wires 1 and 3, and wires 2 and 3. Values must be identical. If resistance is incorrect, stator has open or shorted windings and must be replaced.
- Place ohmmeter on x1000 scale. Connect ohmmeter between stator core and each stator lead. No continuity should exist. If continuity exists, stator is grounded and must be replaced.
