Removal & Installation

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove air filter housing. Remove distributor cap. Rotate crankshaft until No. 1 piston is at TDC. Mark distributor-to-engine position for installation reference. Mark distributor rotor-to-distributor housing position for installation reference.
  2. Remove distributor harness connector and hold-down bolt. Lift out distributor. DO NOT  crank or turn engine with distributor removed, or reference marks will be incorrect. To install distributor, reverse removal procedure.
