Removal & Installation (XJS)

  1. XJS models are equipped with 2 crankshaft sensors. One sensor is located at rear of engine (flywheel sensor). Other sensor (TDC sensor) is located at lower front part of engine. Disconnect negative battery cable.
  2. Raise and support vehicle. Remove heat shield (if removing flywheel sensor). Disconnect wiring harness connector. Remove sensor retaining bolts and sensor. To install sensor, reverse removal procedure. Ensure sensor wiring harness is routed in its original position.
