Fuel Control: XJ6

Injectors are usually pulsed twice per engine revolution, with one half of the fuel being injected every time the injector is pulsed. After-start enrichment is provided, irrespective of engine temperature. The ECU increases injector "on" time, up to 3 injector pulses per engine revolution, for enrichment after engine start-up.

Injector "on" time after engine has been running is determined by the ECU. The ECU looks at engine load (intake air) and engine speed from airflow meter and crankshaft sensors. The information is used to access mapped data stored in 128 memory locations containing injector pulse durations for 8 engine loads at 16 different speeds.
