Stator Windings Test

  1. Turn ignition off. Connect voltmeter negative lead to ground and positive lead to any stator winding. Stator windings are accessible through ventilation holes. See Figure . Voltmeter should read zero volts.
  2. Connect negative lead to stator winding and positive lead to output terminal "B+". See Fig 1 . Voltmeter should read zero volts. Any reading other than zero volts indicates a defective positive rectifier diode. Replace diode bridge.
