Installation Procedure

  1. Install the power steering pump.
    2. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice .
  2. Install the power steering pump mounting bolts.

    Tighten:  Tighten the power steering pump mounting bolts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

  3. Connect the power steering pressure hoses to the power steering pump.

    Tighten:  Tighten the power steering pressure hose to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

  4. Remove the drain pan from under the vehicle.
  5. Connect the oil pressure sensor harness clip to the pump body.
  6. Install the power steering pump pulley. Refer to Power Steering Pump Pulley Replacement .
  7. Install the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement for the 2.9L engine or Drive Belt Replacement for the 3.7L engine.
  8. Install the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement for the 2.9L engine or Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement for the 3.7L engine.
  9. Bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding .
  10. Inspect the power steering system for leaks.
