Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2008 Isuzu Ascender, 2008 GMC Envoy, and 2008 Chevrolet TrailBlazer. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Remove the lower closeout/insulator panel (GMC only). Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement (GMC/Chevrolet) .
  2. Remove the accessory trim plate. Refer to Instrument Panel Cluster Trim Plate Bezel Replacement (Chevrolet) or Instrument Panel Cluster Trim Plate Bezel Replacement (GMC, Buick) or Instrument Panel Accessory Trim Plate Replacement (GMC) .
  3. Fig 1: Identifying Rear Alignment Locator

  4. Remove the 3 screws that retain the radio to the instrument panel (I/P).
  5. Partially remove the radio disengaging the radio rear alignment locator (1) to gain access to the electrical connectors.
  6. Disconnect the radio antenna cable.
  7. Disconnect the electrical connectors to the radio.
  8. Remove the radio from the vehicle.
