Installation Procedure

- Install the guide pin seals (1).
- Apply a light coat of high temperature silicone brake lubricant to the brake caliper guide pins.
- Install the upper guide pin (1).
Ensure the lip of the seal is fully seated in the groove of the brake caliper guide pin.
- Install the lower guide pin (2).
Ensure the lip of the seal is fully seated in the groove of the brake caliper guide pin.
- Apply a light coat of high temperature silicone brake lubricant to the brake pad shims.
- Install the brake pad shims (1).
- Install the inner (1) and outer (2) brake pads.
Note the location of the brake pad wear sensors for correct installation.
- Install the brake caliper (1) to the caliper bracket.
- Loosely install the brake caliper guide pin bolts.
- Tighten the upper brake caliper guide pin bolt (1) to 42 N.m (31 lb ft).
- Tighten the lower brake caliper guide pin bolt (2) to 42 N.m (31 lb ft).
- Install the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
- Lower the vehicle.
NOTE:
The guide pins are not interchangeable. Note the location of the guide pins.
