Programming The TPMS Control Unit (TCU)

NOTE: Reprogram the TPMS Control Unit only after the On-Board Diagnostic System Check has been completed, no DTC(s) were noted, and you have determined that the on-board diagnostics are functioning properly.
NOTE: Registering tire codes into the TPMS Control Unit requires an Isuzu Tech 2 scan tool and a sensor activation tool (Transponder - J 46915)

Follow the Tech 2 operating procedure to begin registration process. See Fig 1 and Fig 2 .

Registration Mode (Tire ID) 

  1. Select "Additional Function" and "Registration Mode".
  2. Enter the Registration Mode and press Confirm.
  3. Registration Mode screen displays as shown in Fig 3.
    NOTE: The TPMS light blinks ON/OFF every 3 seconds when in registration mode.

Programming TCU. 

Follow Programming Tire ID Code Function steps 1 through 8.

  1. Select "Additional Function" and "Registration Mode" with the Tech 2.
  2. Check the TPMS light for is blinking every 3 seconds.
  3. Use the sensor activation tool (J 46915) as shown in Fig 4.

  5. Starting with the left front tire, press the button on the sensor activation tool for 5 seconds to cause the sensor to transmit its tire code.
  6. Register tires in order of 1 to 5. See Fig 5.
    NOTE: The tire registered into the 5th position is registered as a spare tire.

  8. The TPMS light will blink in a unique pattern as each tire is registered. See Fig 6.

  10. The TPMS light is turned OFF when the 5th registration is completed.
