Evaporative Systems Test

EVAP test checks EVAP system power operation:

  1. Connect TECH 2 or equivalent scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). Start engine, then go to next step.
  2. On scan tool select F3: MISCELLANEOUS TESTS. From application menu select F2: EVAP, then go to next step.
  3. Follow scan tool directions to test EVAP purge control solenoid.
  4. If EVAP purge control solenoid test as specified, testing is complete. If EVAP purge control solenoid fails test, test EVAP purge control solenoid, perform test for DTC P0440: EVAPORATIVE EMISSION CONTROL SYSTEM MALFUNCTION  .
