Steering Unit: Reassembly

  1. Install mounting rubber and dust cover (if removed). See Fig 1 .
  2. Install oil line, see Fig 1 . Tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  3. Install tie-rod assembly with tab washer. See Fig 1 .
  4. Apply grease to ball joint, install tie-rod and tab washer. See Fig 1 . Tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  . After tightening, bend tab washer against width across flat of inner ball joint.
  5. Apply a thin coat of grease to shaft for smoother installation. Then install bellows. See Fig 1 .
  6. Install band and clip. See Fig 1 .
  7. Install tie-rod end. Tighten lock nut to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
