Wiper/Washer Systems: Operation: VEHICROSS

With ignition on, power is supplied from FRT WIPER (20-amp) fuse to front wiper switch, wiper motor and alarm and relay control unit. With wiper switch in LO or HI position, battery voltage is applied to LO or HI winding of wiper motor. When wiper switch is moved to INT position, battery voltage is applied to intermittent relay. The relay momentarily energizes and applies battery voltage to LO winding of wiper motor. The PARK/RUN function then returns wipers to PARK position. When switch is set to MIST position, battery voltage is applied to LO winding and wipers will sweep windshield as long as lever is held up. When WASH is pushed, battery voltage is applied to washer motor and alarm and windshield wiper intermittent relay. Wiper motor is energized by intermittent relay through the LO winding. Wipers run at LO speed for 3-4 sweeps after switch is released.
