  2. Cut-away of select rod head "B" should align with rear case hole's stopper "C". See Fig 2. After mating transfer case halves, install transfer case-to-rear case bolts. Tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  3. Shift 2WD-4WD shift rod to 4WD side. Join rod grooves of 2WD-4WD actuator assembly and shift rod (arrow "1"). See Fig 3. Push actuator assembly until shift rod reaches 2WD position (arrow "2"). See Fig 3. Tighten actuator bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Connect breather hose to actuator. Tighten bolt to specification.
  4. Install control box assembly. Install rear and front companion flanges. Special holder (J8614-11) may be needed to hold companion flange while tightening nuts. Tighten bolts and nuts to specification. Stake rear companion flange nut in 2 places and front companion flange nut in one place.
  5. Install speedometer driven gear with bushing and new "O" ring. Install driven gear assembly into transfer case rear cover. Install plate. Install speedometer sensor. Tighten bolts to specification.
