Affected Vehicles
All model year 1998 through 2000 2.2L Amigo and Rodeo vehicles that have set PCM code P0502 for Vehicle Speed Sensor Circuit Low Input.
Service Information
Some 1998 through 2000 2.2L Amigo and Rodeo may randomly set PCM code P0502 in a deceleration mode usually with 0% throttle. The MIL will only set after the fault has been detected for two consecutive key cycles.
Some 1998 2.2L Amigos and Rodeos may show additional symptoms after Re-Programming with the updated Broadcast Code. These symptoms include the "LOW FUEL" light staying on and an inaccurate fuel gauge reading. These vehicles will also require the replacement of the fuel sender assembly.
To resolve this concern, re-program with the following Broadcast Codes:
