Accessory Meter Input Tests

NOTE: Accessory meter is only serviceable as a unit and must be replaced as so. This test only covers power inputs and grounds.
  1. If accessory meter is completely inoperative, check fuse C11 AUDIO (ACC) in dash fuse box. If fuse is okay, go to next step. If fuse is blown, replace fuse and recheck operation. If fuse blows again, check for short to ground in Orange/Green wire between dash fuse box and accessory meter. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . If temperature function of accessory meter is inoperative, check ambient temperature circuit. If other portions of accessory meter are inoperative, replace accessory meter. See ACCESSORY METER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
  2. Disconnect accessory meter connector. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Use DVOM to measure voltage between ground and accessory meter connector terminal No. 3 (Orange/Green wire). See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . If battery voltage is indicated, go to next step. If battery voltage is not indicated, check for open in Orange/Green wire or poor connections between dash fuse box and accessory meter.
  3. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Use DVOM to check for continuity between ground and accessory connector terminal No. 6 (Black wire). If continuity is indicated, check for poor connection at accessory meter. If connections are okay, replace accessory meter. See ACCESSORY METER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If continuity is not indicated, check for open in Black wire between ground and accessory meter. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Recheck system operation.
