Distributor ignition system consists of distributor, VCM, ignition coil driver module, ignition coil, Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor and Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor. Ignition control and by-pass functions are controlled by the VCM. CMP, located in the distributor, provides VCM with information necessary to set engine misfire DTCs. CKP sensor provides information to VCM necessary to control ignition and fuel injection.
