Front Transfer Case Components: Reassembly

Replace oil seals in transfer case. Fill seal lips with grease. Using Installer (J-42809), press-fit ring gear to transfer case. Remove any burrs created by pressing. Install snap ring, circular hub and snap ring to carrier assembly. Install carrier assembly in transfer case. Note proper direction of thrust plate and install it to input shaft. Mount ball bearing to input shaft, ensuring snap ring groove is exposed. Install snap ring. Install snap ring in transfer case. Open snap ring and insert input shaft and carrier assembly. Install output shaft ball bearing.
