DTC 16: Class-2 Communication Line Abnormality

  1. Turn ignition off. Disconnect EHCU and PCM harness connectors. Using DVOM, check for continuity between ground and EHCU harness connector terminal No. 25 (Orange/Green wire). If continuity is present, go to next step. If continuity is not present, repair EHCU harness or connector as necessary.
  2. Reconnect EHCU harness connector. Clear DTCs. See CLEARING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES under SELF-DIAGNOSTICS. Turn ignition on. If DTC 16 returns, check for damaged PCM harness. Repair as necessary. If DTC 16 does not return, replace EHCU.
