Description & Operation

NOTE: This article also applies to Acura SLX and Honda Passport. For Acura SLX, refer to Trooper, unless specified otherwise. For Honda Passport, refer to Rodeo, unless specified otherwise.

On Hombre, each power mirror assembly contains 2 motors. One motor to change mirror position in and out, and another to change mirror position up and down. Outside Remote Control Rear View Mirror Switch (Power Mirror Switch) can change either driver side or passenger side mirror positions. Power mirror switch is powered by the MIR/LKS (5-amp) fuse and should operate at all times.

On Amigo, Rodeo and Trooper, mirror positions can be adjusted with ignition switch in ON or ACC position. Using mirror control switch, driver-side mirror or passenger-side mirror can be adjusted. Each mirror assembly contains a motor to allow horizontal and vertical adjustment of mirror angles. Rodeo and Trooper are equipped with an electrically-heated mirror defogger, which will only operate with ignition in ON position.

On Trooper, mirrors have power folding feature. When activated, this folding feature rotates mirror assemblies inward, to prevent mirror damage when additional vehicle side clearance is required. When folding switch is deactivated, mirror assemblies will return to previously set positions.
