Removal & Installation (4.3L)

  1. Relieve fuel pressure. See FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE . Disconnect negative battery cable. Disconnect air cleaner duct from throttle body.
  2. Remove upper manifold assembly. See UPPER INTAKE MANIFOLD .
  3. Remove fuel meter body assembly. See FUEL METER BODY . Disassemble lower hold-down plate and nuts. While pulling poppet nozzle tube downward, push small screwdriver down between injector terminals until injector is removed.
  4. Lubricate NEW injector "O" ring seals with engine oil. To complete installation, reverse removal procedure.
