Removal & Installation (3.5L)

  1. Relieve fuel pressure. See FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE . Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove engine cover. Disconnect accelerator pedal cable from throttle body. Disconnect MAP sensor, solenoid valve, and electric vacuum sensing valve connectors. Disconnect vacuum hose on canister VSV and PCV ventilation hose.
  2. Remove common chamber. Lift up fuel injectors. Remove injector retainer clip. Remove fuel injector assembly. Remove "O" rings from injector. See Figure.
  3. To install, reverse disassembly procedure. Install NEW "O" rings on injector and lube with engine oil. Install injector into fuel rail using NEW retainer clips. Coat end of injector with engine oil. Install fuel rail. Install upper intake manifold. Tighten bolts and nuts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
