Removal & Installation (2.2L Hombre)

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove air intake duct. Remove accelerator cable splash shield from accelerator cable bracket.
  2. Disconnect accelerator, cruise and transmission control cables. Remove vacuum hose harness from top of air inlet. Disconnect crankcase ventilation valve and power brake vacuum hoses from vacuum tubes at upper manifold. Position vacuum hoses out of way.
  3. Remove electrical connectors at MAP sensor, TP sensor, and IAC valve. Remove bolts/nuts attaching throttle cable bracket and position bracket and cables out of way. Remove bolts/studs attaching upper manifold to lower manifold and position EGR and injector wiring harness out of way. Remove upper manifold assembly and gasket, discard gasket.
  4. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
