Removal & Installation
- Note distributor installed position and direction of rotor in relation to distributor housing. Use these as alignment aids (for installation) before removing distributor.
- Remove cylinder head cover. Rotate crankshaft pulley clockwise to TDC, with No. 4 cylinder on compression stroke. Disconnect distributor 4-way connector. Remove distributor.
- Ensure crankshaft is on TDC and No. 4 cylinder is on compression stroke. Apply engine oil to distributor shaft "O" ring. Install distributor, aligning reference marks. Distributor shaft is marked at a location 90 degrees from position of pinion gear roll pin. Shaft setting mark should align with raised shoulder on cylinder head.
- Install retainer washer, hold-down nut and distributor cap. Tighten nut to specifications. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . No timing adjustment is necessary.
