Trouble Shooting

NOTE: To verify ABS operation (normal or faulty), perform ABS self-check. See ANTI-LOCK SYSTEM SELF-CHECK  under SYSTEM TESTS.

The Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) is capable of storing Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) when a system malfunction is detected. During a malfunction, ABS warning light may flash or remain illuminated. DTCs can be retrieved by observing ABS warning light, or by using a scan tool. See SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM  . If a DTC is not present, but a malfunction is evident, trouble shooting may be performed by symptom. See SYMPTOM DIAGNOSIS.
