Test C-2: Sensor Output Inspection

  1. Turn ignition off. Disconnect EBCM harness connector, located in center console. Connect Pinout Box (J-35592). Raise and support vehicle. Using a DVOM, measure A/C voltage between the following specified pinout box pins while turning each wheel at least one revolution per second:
    • Left Front: Measure between pins No. 4 and 22.
    • Right Front: Measure between pins No. 21 and 23.
    • Left Rear: Measure between pins No. 8 and 9.
    • Right Rear: Measure between pins No. 24 and 26.

If reading is 200 millivolts or less, go to next step. If reading is greater than 200 millivolts, wheel speed sensor output is okay.

  2. Disconnect each wheel speed sensor harness connector. Using a DVOM, measure resistance of each wheel speed sensor. If resistance is 800-1300 ohms, check for faulty wheel speed sensor harness connector, or for an open or short circuit in harness between wheel speed sensor and EBCM. Repair as necessary. If resistance is not 800-1300 ohms, replace wheel speed sensor.
