Abs Motor & Pump
The ABS motor and pump consists of an electric motor, filter, guide, piston rod and cylinder body. Guide is positioned offset to the center of the motor shaft. Rotation of motor and cylinder body provides the reciprocating motion to the piston rod. This pressurizes brake fluid which is fed to relief valve, accumulator and modulator.
Pump motor operation and accumulator pressure are controlled by on/off signals from pressure switch to control unit. When pressure in accumulator exceeds a predetermined level, pressure switch is turned on. Control unit deactivates motor relay operation and stops pump motor. When accumulator pressure drops below a predetermined level, control unit activates motor relay and starts pump motor. If accumulator pressure does not reach a specified value after motor has run continuously, control unit stops motor operation and turns ABS indicator light on.
