Over-Running Clutch Assembly Test

Test pinion by turning it in cranking direction. If pinion turns rough or slips, replace entire over-running clutch assembly. Check pinion teeth for chips, cracks, or excessive wear. Chipped teeth may indicate a defective flywheel ring gear.
