Fuel Gauge Sending Unit

  1. Place fuel gauge sending unit on test bench. Connect ohmmeter to fuel gauge sending unit terminals No. 1 and 2. SeeFig 1 .
  2. As float is moved, resistance reading should change smoothly. See FUEL GAUGE SENDING UNIT RESISTANCE  . Connect ohmmeter to fuel gauge sending unit terminals No. 1 and 4. Resistance should be 17.9-35.9 ohms (infinite resistance on 1996). If resistance readings are not as specified, replace sending unit.
