Brake Band

NOTE: Band adjustment is not considered a normal maintenance item. If band adjustment is required, use the following procedure.
  1. Remove oil pan, gasket, servo cover and gasket. Loosen lock nut. Slightly back off servo adjusting bolt. See Fig 1. Using an INCH-lb. torque wrench, torque servo adjusting bolt to 40 INCH lbs. (4.5 N.m).
  2. Back off servo adjusting bolt exactly 5 turns. Hold servo adjusting bolt and torque lock nut to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  table. Install servo cover and gasket. Torque servo cover bolts to specification. Install gasket and oil pan. Torque oil pan bolts to specification.
