Locking Hubs: Identification

Three different hub types are used. Automatic hubs have no handle on cover. Automatic hubs equipped with shift-on-the-fly system use a vacuum servo and Vacuum Switching Valve (VSV) assembly located on left side of front axle housing. See Fig 1 . Manual hubs have control handle marked LOCK and FREE.
