Speed Sensor

Pick-up type speed sensor is mounted on top of rear axle. See Figure . An exciter ring, mounted near ring gear, induces an AC voltage in speed sensor. Speed sensor sends signal to EBCM, and is used to determine rear wheel speed. EBCM will control Anti-Lock Valve (ALV) operation according to wheel speed to prevent rear wheel lock-up.
