Wiper/Washer Systems: Operation

With ignition on, voltage is supplied from fuse labeled WIPER to front wiper and washer switches, front wiper motor and front washer motor. The WIPER fuse is located in fuse block on left side of dash.

When front wiper switch is turned on (LO or HI position), battery voltage is supplied to windshield wiper motor to operate wipers. When the MIST or INT switch is turned on, operation of the wipers is controlled by intermittent relay. The windshield washer motor operates when washer switch is depressed.

The rear wiper has intermittent and rise-up function and is controlled by the rear wiper controller. When rear hatch is open, the rear wiper will not operate. The hatch gate opener actuator will not operate while the rear wiper is in operation.
