Fuel Pump: Removal

  1. Remove negative battery cable. Remove gas cap. Drain fuel tank by removing fuel tank drain plug. Replace fuel tank drain plug. Disconnect fuel tank wiring connectors and evaporative hoses. Remove fuel filler hose (except Trooper).
  2. Remove brake cable bracket and exhaust components as necessary (Stylus). Remove fuel pressure and return lines. Remove fuel tank. Remove sending unit screws and fuel pump assembly.
