Removal & Installation (3.2L)

Relieve fuel pressure. See FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove air cleaner assembly.
Remove accelerator cable and bracket from throttle body. Remove canister and air vacuum hose from VSV. Remove vacuum booster hose at engine. Disconnect electrical connectors at input devices on upper intake manifold and attaching components.
Remove plug wires and DIS module assembly. See DIRECT IGNITION SYSTEM (DIS) under IGNITION SYSTEM. Disconnect vacuum hoses at throttle body. Remove throttle body.
Remove vacuum hoses and lines at throttle body chamber. Remove EGR valve assembly. Remove ground cable at rear of throttle body chamber. Remove throttle body chamber.
Remove upper intake manifold and fuel feed and return lines from cylinder head. Remove fuel injector wire connectors. Remove fuel rail retaining bolts and fuel rail assembly. See Fig 1. To install, reverse removal procedures. Tighten bolts and nuts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
