Fuel Pump: Removal

  1. Remove negative battery cable. Remove gas cap and drain fuel tank by removing fuel tank drain plug.
  2. Replace fuel tank drain plug. Disconnect fuel tank wiring connectors and evaporative hoses. Remove fuel filler hose (all except Trooper). Remove brake cable bracket and exhaust components as necessary, (Stylus and Impulse only).
  3. Remove fuel pressure and return lines. Remove fuel tank. Remove sending unit retaining screws and remove fuel pump assembly.
