Door Lock Circuit
NOTE:
For wiring circuit identification, see appropriate chassis wiring diagram in the WIRING DIAGRAMS
section. For control unit connector terminal identification, seeFig 1
.
- Disconnect control unit connector. Using an ohmmeter, check continuity between control unit connector (harness side) terminals No. 1 and 6. Continuity should exist. If ohmmeter does not indicate continuity, reverse test probes on connector terminals and recheck circuit. If continuity exists, circuit is okay. If ohmmeter needle movement occurs at both test positions, or at neither position, circuit is faulty.
- Check continuity between control unit connector terminal No. 2 and ground. Continuity should exist when left front door is unlocked and should not exist when left front door is locked.
- Using a DVOM, check voltage at control unit connector terminal No. 4 and ground. Battery voltage should be present. Check continuity between control unit connector terminal No. 5 and ground. Continuity should exist when left front door is locked and should not exist when left front door is unlocked.
- Check continuity between control unit connector terminal No. 8 and ground. Continuity should exist. If control unit wiring circuits do not test as described in previous steps, repair appropriate wiring circuit as necessary.
