Dropping Resistor (2.6L)

  1. Unplug dropping resistor wire connector. Dropping resistor is located on right rear corner of engine compartment, near cruise control actuator.
  2. Using ohmmeter, measure resistance between center terminal (White wire) of resistor connector and remaining terminals. Standard resistance at all terminals should be 5-7 ohms at room temperature. If any measurement deviates from standard value, replace dropping resistor.
