Throttle Position Sensor (TPS)

CAUTION: During TPS checking procedure, test connections should be connected for minimum period of time.
  1. Ensure TPS retaining screws are tight. Ensure there is no play in TPS arm and primary throttle valve arm. Connect an ohmmeter to Green and Black TPS wires.
  2. Open throttle about 1/3. Ohmmeter should show no continuity. Gradually close throttle lever. Continuity should exist when primary throttle valve reaches prescribed clearance between valve and bore. See TPS CLEARANCE SPECIFICATIONS table. Adjust clearance by loosening screws and shifting TPS. Recheck continuity and clearance after adjustment.
