Throttle Position Sensor: I-Mark

  1. Ensure TPS retaining screws are tight. Check that there is no play in TPS arm and primary throttle valve arm. Connect an ohmmeter to Green and Black TPS wires.
CAUTION: During TPS checking procedure, test connections should be connected for minimum period of time.
  2. Open throttle about 1/3. Ohmmeter should show no continuity. Gradually close throttle lever. Continuity should exist when primary throttle valve reaches prescribed clearance between valve and bore. See TPS CLEARANCE SPECIFICATIONS  table.
  3. Adjust clearance by loosening TPS screws. Recheck continuity and clearance after adjustment.
