Bench Testing: Rotor

  1. Using an ohmmeter, check rotor coil resistance across slip rings. If ohmmeter reading is more than 2.9 ohms at 68°F (20°C), rotor is defective.
  2. If ohmmeter reading is within specification, connect an ohmmeter between one slip ring and rotor core. If continuity exists, replace rotor assembly.
