CODE 45 (O2 Sensor Rich Condition)
- Check condition of air filter. With dwell meter connected, run engine at part throttle until dwell varies. Idle engine and note dwell.
- Remove large vacuum hose to cause an air leak. Note dwell. If dwell does not change, go to step 3). If dwell decreases, check carburetor duty solenoid.
- Disconnect O2 sensor and ground O2 sensor ECM connector. If dwell drops to less than 10 degrees, O2 sensor or connection is faulty. If dwell does not change, ECM or connection is faulty.
