Fuel Gauge Sending Unit

  1. With sending unit removed from tank, connect positive side of battery to fuel tank sending unit terminal No. 5 and negative side to terminal No. 3 of connector. Measure voltage between terminals No. 1 and 3. SeeFig 1 .
  2. With float in empty position, voltage measured should be about .6 volts. With float in full position, voltage should be about 3.5 volts. Float should be about 7.9" (200 mm) from inside edge of sending unit for empty measurement and 2.5" (63 mm) for full measurement.
