Stall Test Procedure

  1. Road test vehicle and warm transmission to normal operating temperature. Connect tachometer to engine. Position tachometer so that it can be read from driver's seat.
  2. Set parking and service brakes. Start engine and place selector lever in "D". Depress accelerator pedal completely and note maximum RPM obtained. RPM should be approximately as shown in STALL SPEED SPECIFICATIONS  table.
  3. Place selector lever in "N" and allow engine to idle to cool off transmission. Then, place selector lever in "R" and repeat stall test. Stall RPM should be approximately as shown in STALL SPEED SPECIFICATIONS  table.
