Removal and Installation
NOTE:
When removing components such as hoses, tubes / lines, etc., cap or plug openings to prevent fluid from spilling
REMOVAL
- Disconnect the negative battery terminal. Refer to Battery Disconnect .
- Remove air inlet resonator. Refer to Removal and Installation .
- Remove charge air cooler air inlet tube. Refer to Removal and Installation .
- Remove drive belt. Refer to Removal and Installation .
- Discharge refrigerant. Refer to Recycle Refrigerant .
- Remove low-pressure flex hose bracket bolt and bracket. Refer to Exploded View .
- Remove bolt (A), then remove low-pressure pipe (1) from low-pressure flexible hose (2) and remove O-ring.CAUTION:
- Do not reuse O-ring.
- Cap or wrap the joint of the pipe with suitable material such as vinyl tape to avoid the entry of air.
- Remove generator "B" terminal nut and "B" terminal harness.
- Remove generator bolts and remove generator.
INSTALLATION
Installation is in the reverse order of removal.
- Torque bolts to specification in order shown in illustration.
Bolts : 25.0 N.m (2.6 kg-m, 18.4 ft-lb) - Torque "B" terminal nut.
Nut : 10.06 N.m (1.0 kg-m, 7 ft-lb)
CAUTION:
- Apply A/C oil to new O-rings for installation.
- After charging refrigerant, check for leaks. Refer to Leak Test .
- Check tension of belt. Refer to Inspection .
