Transaxle Fluid: Adjustment

Recommended fluid and fluid capacity

: Refer to Fluids and Lubricants .
  1. Remove air duct (dust side). Refer to Removal and Installation .
  2. Connect CONSULT. Refer to Description .
  3. Apply the parking brake and start the engine.
  4. Select "TRANSMISSION", "Work Support", "Oil level check" in this order.
  5. Proceed to "Oil level check", according to instructions shown on the CONSULT screen.
  6. Check the transaxle fluid level. Refer to Inspection .
  7. Adjust transaxle fluid level by injecting/discharging transaxle fluid from hole SYMBOL of transaxle fluid charging pipe by using an appropriate tool.

    NOTE:
    • The scales (B) on dipstick [SST: KV315H0340 (TechMate No. -) (DAIMLER tool No. 168 589 012 100)] (A) are marked at intervals of 5 mm (0.20 in).

    • To increase transaxle fluid level by 1 mm (0.04 in), it is necessary to inject approximately 50 ml of transaxle fluid.
  8. Complete "Oil level check", according to instructions shown on the CONSULT screen.
  9. Stop the engine.
