Side Radar LH/RH: Task
The side radars detect vehicles in the blind spot over the integrated vehicles radar sensor system. The side radars are ultra wideband radar sensor with the following properties:
- Detection range: 0.18 to 30 m (resolution 0.04 m)
- Detection angle of 60 deg. with angle measurement and 130 deg. with detection only
- Carrier frequency: 25 GHz
- Operating principle: Short-pulse method with 1.4 GHz bandwidth
NOTE:
The side radars operate according to the master or slave principle. The master or slave function can be determined by means of the connector coding. The master function is defined for the side radar RH. That means the side radar LH transmits its requests for output of warnings via CAN communication at the side radar RH, which evaluates the information from both side radars and transmits a respective request for output of warnings via the CAN communication to the respective control units.
The side radar also have the following tasks:
- Reception of input factors
- Evaluation of input factors
- Transmission of initial parameters
