Charging Current Inspection

CAUTION: Before inspection, perform the following.

Check drive belt. Refer to Inspection .
Check electrical lines to battery, alternator, starter motor and on the ground point for the battery in the engine compartment for tight seating and check for a perfect condition.
Check ground cable between engine and body for tight seating and proper condition.

Connect volt/amp(s) tester (A) with current clamp (B) as shown in the figure.

	: Alternator
	: Battery

Check charging current when apply load to battery using volt/amp(s) tester at specified engine speed.

CAUTION:

Alter load resistance long enough until the maximum charging current is achieved.
Charging voltage must not drop below 12.7V while this inspection.
