EPS Control Unit: Fail-Safe
- When the EPS system is switched on, the EPS control unit carries out a self-test. If a malfunction is detected, the EPS system is not switched on. The vehicle can be steered with increased force of the hand.
- During driving operation, the EPS control unit checks the signals from the EPS torque sensor. If these signals are outside the defined upper or lower limit, the EPS system is switched off by the EPS control unit. The vehicle can be steered with increased force of the hand.
